FOOD TOUR CLASSIC

1. First stop – Local breakfast
Enjoy traditional“Ricciola”(savory pasta) accompanied by cappuccino or a good coffee at a historic café in the city.

2. Walk in Medieval Ferrara
The walk continues through the Jewish Ghetto and the evocative Via delle Volte, until it reaches the ancient Piazza delle Erbe-present-day Piazza Trento e Trieste-for the second tasting stop.

3. Second Stop – Tastings of Local Specialties

• Local cured meats and cheeses served with classic Ferrarese bread(la coppia)

• Two first courses:

  • Pasticcio, a pastry case filled with macaroni, white ragù, mushrooms, and truffle

  • Pumpkin-filled Cappellacciwith butter and sage or classic ragù

• All paired with a glass ofFortana, a local red wine

4. Stage Three – Homemade dessert or ice cream
At the end of your walk through the medieval city, you can enjoy a delicious homemade dessert or ice cream.

5. Renaissance Itinerary
From the Estense Castle, with its magnificent moat still intact, the itinerary continues along Via Ercole d’Este through the Renaissance area, Massari Park and Piazza Ariostea, to the Palazzo dei Diamanti.

6. Final stop – Traditional dessert
Enjoy theTenerina Cake, a rich chocolate cake, accompanied by a small glass ofZabov, a soft egg and eggnog liqueur made by Moccia Distilleries since 1946.

• During the winter season, instead of Torta Tenerina, you can taste Panpepato, a traditional chocolate dessert typical of the Christmas holidays.
• Menus can be adjusted to meet specific needs: the Maccheroni Pie is also available without truffle and with a savory pastry crust.
• The itinerary may be adjusted due to unexpected closures, supplier rest days, or holidays, but the content and experience of the tour will remain unchanged.
• A child-friendly menu will be provided, served with a non-alcoholic beverage
• Adding the Renaissance city route will extend the tour by about half an hour.
• Optionally, for an extra fee, you can combine the tour with a historical and cultural route led by a certified multilingual guide.
