Truffle Hunting in the Woods and Tasting

An expert truffle hunter will accompany guests, along with his wonderful Lagotto dogs, through the secret paths of the Panfilia woods, in the countryside between Sant’Agostino and Ferrara, or in a private forest adjacent to the reserve, in search of the magnificent “White/Black Gold.”

Through an introductory lesson, he will teach about the history and search for truffles, dog training, existing white and black truffles, and symbiotic plants.

At the end, we’ll head to the farmhouse for a fantastic truffle-based tasting.

Specific harvest periods in Emilia-Romagna:

• Fine White Truffle (Tuber magnatum): October–January
• Fine Black Truffle (Tuber melanosporum): mid-November – mid-March
• Black Summer Truffle (Scorzone) (Tuber aestivum): May–August/November (depending on the region)
• Black Hooked Truffle (Tuber Uncinatum): October–January.
• Bianchetto Truffle (Marzuolo) (Tuber borchii): January–April
