Ferrara in one day

Independent arrival by bus to Ferrara. Meeting with local guide and start of the guided tour. Starting from “Porta Paola”, the ancient access road to the city, walk through the medieval core with a stop on “Via delle Volte”. Visit to the “Jewish Ghetto”, an important testament to Ferrara’s multicultural history, and continue along Via Mazzini, where stumbling stones have recently been placed. Arrival in Piazza Trento e Trieste (the ancient Piazza delle Erbe), where you can admire the Ferrara Cathedral and the Ducal Palace, now the Town Hall, with its grand staircase.

Stop at “Piazza Savonarola” and visit the Castello Estense, with its moat, ancient prisons and magnificent frescoed halls.

Lunch with tasting of typical products and food and wine specialties of the area.

In the afternoon, a walk through the renaissance city along Corso Ercole I d’Este, discovering the “Addizione Erculea”. External tour of the main historical palaces, including the famous “Palazzo dei Diamanti”, home of the “Pinacoteca” and temporary exhibitions. Stops at “Quadrivio degli Angeli”, “Massari Park” and “Piazza Ariostea”, where the famous “Ferrara Palio”, considered the oldest in the world, takes place

End of tour and independent return.

• Entrances to the Castello Estense are provided for groups of up to 25 people accompanied by 1 guide
• The Este Castle is closed on Tuesdays (for Tuesday arrivals, it is possible to substitute a visit to the castle with the Palazzo Schifanoia Museum or Cathedral Museum)
• For groups of more than 25 people, a second guide will be provided for the Castle tour only (price to be determined based on the number of participants).
