The tour starts—provided it is accessible to the public—at theVia delle VigneJewish Cemetery,one of the most beautiful and moving cemeteries in Italy. Among the shaded pathways and ivy-covered headstones rest illustrious figures such asGiorgio Bassani, author ofThe Garden of the Finzi-Continis, who found his inspiration here.

The visit continues with a walk among Renaissance buildings, reaching the medieval heart of the city and the narrow streets of the Ghetto, reliving centuries of history—from the enlightened tolerance of the Este family to the harsh restrictions imposed during the Papal and Fascist periods. The tour then proceeds toVia Mazzini,home to thesynagogue complexand the historic headquarters of theJewish Community of Ferrara.

In the afternoon, visit theNational Museum of Italian Judaism and the Shoah (MEIS),a key reference for understanding the roots and evolution of Jewish presence in Italy.
