Day 1– Arrival in Ferrara elegant Renaissance city UNESCO World Heritage Site, easily reached by car. Meet with your guide for a food walking tour to discover the typical flavors and history of Ferrara. The tour combines tastings and culture, with stops among historic workshops and artisan laboratories and tastings of local specialties such ascoppiaferrarese (typical IGP bread) andZia(garlic salami) cappellacci di zucca, pasticcio di maccheroni (pasta topped with white mushroom ragout, truffle and béchamel collected in a sweet puff pastry crust, as tradition dictates) and desserts such as chocolate tenerina. All accompanied by wines from the sands of Bosco Eliceo.

Dinner and overnight stay at your leisure.

Day 2– Self drive from Ferrara to Modena among flavors and traditions. Breakfast and departure to Modena. First stop: a Parmigiano Reggiano DOP cheese factory, where you will witness the production and aging stages of the “King of Cheeses.” Guided tasting of different maturations. This will be followed by a visit to a traditional acetaia in Modena, where Traditional Balsamic Vinegar DOP is made, with exploration of the aging barrels and a final tasting. Finally, visit to a local winery in the Modena hills, producer of Lambrusco and Pignoletto with tasting

Free time to explore Modena: the Romanesque Duomo, Piazza Grande, the Ghirlandina and the stores of the Albinelli Market.
